Do you think America overreacted over Bill Clinton's affair?

There are certain things that I think people overreacted to concerning Bill Clinton’s affair. It was bad enough to have the affair, but it was worse when he lied about it as if he wasn’t even required to tell the truth. It also seems that he lied because that was more important than losing his career. Often times, when you make another mistake from a mistake before, that is when there are huge issues.

People can forgive a mistake. People usually don’t forgive another mistake made to cover the first mistake. I don’t believe when Monica Lewinsky stated that Bill Clinton abused his powers as president when they had their affair. She seems like she couldn’t be pushed around. American probably did overreact some.
