Probably the biggest known mistake from Ronald Reagan’s presidency would be the Iran Contra Affair. This happened when the United States during the Reagan administration decided to sell arms or military weapons to Iran. The money from these sales would be used to supply it to the contra which was a group of military rebels in Nicaragua. There were a number of problems that were encountered with this issue.
First, guns are given to a rebel group that was responsible for violent acts. Second, it was kept a secret until it was uncovered. Third and probably the worst reason, the money was given to a country that we ended up getting into a war with several years later. It seems that these guns were probably used against us.
