You may have heard of the “Arms Race.” This was a time when two countries or even more than that come together to try to produce more and more guns and military weapons even though the countries are not at war. Instead, it is a time for peace. This may involve a Cold War where both countries are not wanting to stop producing their weapons. Other countries may be trying to stop these countries from producing the weapons.

Reagan restarted the Arms Race against the Soviet Union and building another Cold War because he wanted the Soviet to stop making so many weapons. This may have been attributed to the Soviet’s government being communist. Many people were against communism and Reagan wanted to do something about it.
