Does Singapore have a liberal/conservative culture?

Singapore like several other Asian countries may appear to be a very conservative culture. However, it depends upon where you are looking within Singapore. In major cities, the culture may appear to be more liberal because of the people who live there. However, in the government and overall, it appears that Singapore is a more conservative country. It also depends upon the belief.

Singapore is known for having strict laws when it comes to crimes. One time an American vandalized some cars where in America this person would receive probably a few weeks in jail, if that. However, since this took place in Singapore, the person was flogged. This seems like a very conservative approach to crime, but there are also liberal issues to other things that go on in Singapore.
