Generally speaking, Lee Kuan Yew is considered to be the man who turned Singapore into a first world country after coming from a third world country. He spent over thirty years as the country’s first primer minister. He began once Singapore became a free country from Britain and Malaysia. He was able to make Singapore a country that separated from Malaysia.
He also was in charge of the national security, providing water sources for his people, creating anti-corruption measures, including corporal punishment and establishing a strong economy. One of the ways in which he did this was by coming together with three other Asian countries to become the Four Asian Tigers. These countries including Singapore strengthened their economies by coming together and increasing their trade with other countries.
