Many human activities contribute to air pollution. The most common activities are:
Combustion of fossils: Combustion of coal, petroleum and other fuels is known to be one of the major causes of air pollution. Combustion of fuel is common in industries and factories.
Emission from cars: Our vehicles use combustion to harness energy from fossil fuels. This process release pollutant such as carbon monoxide to the environment.
Aerosols and chlorofluorocarbons (CFC): CFC found in aerosols also affect the environment, it destroys the ozone layer.
Volcano eruptions: natural disasters can also cause air pollution, Volcanoes are known to release sulphur dioxide which is a pollution that can affect the air.
Other major causes of air pollution include: Forest fires, metal smelting, side effects from agriculture, and tobacco smoking.
