The Wrath of Khan was definitely the all around best Star Trek movie ever made. It was a delight for strue Star Trek fans and it gave us what we wanted. The scenes were not predictable as many of the other Star Trek movies scenes have been. There was substance and thought behind the plot and the acting was awesome as well. I also liked that there wasn't false hype behind it all which true Star Trek fans really appreciate. It was like true fans were respected and given what they wanted.
Into the Darkness did not do those things at all and many fans, like myself, were disappointed and felt like we were shafted. Perhaps because the Wrath of Khan was so good, we were disappointed by the next ones that were not as good because they did not live up to the expectations placed on them in comparison. But, when there is the kind of money made like these movies bring in, every one of them should be stellar.
