Is American Idol still on the air?

For a show that started in 2002, it is hard to believe that a show would still be on the air. However, American Idol still is on the air. They are on their seventeenth season of the show. Over those years, other shows have been created and do the same thing. The other shows include The Voice and The X Factor. Both of these shows began after American Idol started and became popular.

American Idol led the way for these other shows. They never would have made it had it not been for American Idol. As a matter of fact, some of the judges who were on American Idol then moved to the other competitive shows. Who knows how much longer American Idol will still be on the air?
