Is American Idol scripted?

American Idol is live. That means it is shown to the world when it is happening in the studio and on stage. If something bad happens, then the whole world is going to see it. However, it is understandable that these live reality tv shows that rely on everyday people to not mess up and get everything correct. It is understandable when the contestants mess up, but no one wants to see the judges or host mess up.

Therefore, I believe that American Idol is partially scripted for the regulars on the show. It needs to be a little scripted in order for the show to run smoothly. Otherwise, people will stop watching it if there are a lot of errors being made.
