This great river is located in South America and covers an area of approximately 7,050,000 square kilometers. It drains from west to east. It begins from Iquitos in Peru, flows across Brazil all the way to the Atlantic.
In its flow, it covers Guyana, Ecuador, Venezuela, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia and Peru. These are all the areas where the Amazon river flows through. It's location is strategic in that it covers so many countries. In North or South America, there is no other river of such magnitude and size. This makes for the greatest river of all time anywhere in the world.
