Marie Kondo attended the 2019 Oscars. She did so not because she was up for an Oscar. She was not. The Netflix star did get a lot of attention because seats and tickets are very expensive and very limited. So, everyone questioned what she was doing there. Most had to assume that it was so she could speak or be in some type of a surprise presentation or performance. That never happened through.
As it turned out, all anyone can figure out is that the organizer of messes was cordially invited to the Oscars as a play on, ironic, move which would insinute that she was there to clean up the mess that is usually part of the show itself. No one, to date, really knows though.

Marie Kondo attended the Oscars ceremony with her husband as guests. She wore a deceptively simple pink dress by a top designer, and had clearly been shown how to create attention on the red carpet. She is a star of tidying up, and she acted like one.
It would be odd if a tidying up expert were blowsy, fat and messily turned out, but of course she is diminutive, perfectly slim and carried nothing cumbersome.
