While Blackberry no longer makes phones, they have diverted their attention to other areas in the technology field. As there are many competitors today, being able to be fluid and move into new areas assures a company of never becoming obsolete. In my personal opinion, this was a smart move.
They are moving into new sectors, and bringing in new business, therefore ensuring that they are staying ahead of the trend. Many companies tie themselves into one area, which when that is no longer needed, they are no longer relevant. By changing tactics and continuing business, Blackberry is assured of remaining open and operational.
