Charles John Huffman Dickens was one of the greatest writers of the 19th century. He was a British writer, covering journalism and social commentaries, and even some illustrations. However, he remains best known for the novels that he penned. The books that he undertook were full of social injustice throughout the Victorian times, accentuating the underclasses.
His books have been widely acclaimed throughout the ages, and he continues to fascinate and thrill new readers. When he began writing, the Victorian period was in full swing. He is best known for the works, “A Christmas Carol,” “Oliver Twist,” and “Great Expectations.” Many of his works helped to bring about a greater understanding of the lower classes, and some very important social reforms. He published 15 novels throughout his writing career, as well as several articles and smaller works. Several of Dickens writings have been turned into movies, and Broadway plays.
