Am I able call his insurance company and ask for the police report?

My child was recently invovoled in a car accident. The car is totaled and I don't believe my child is being completely honest on how it happened. He pays for his own car insurance. The car is tilted in name and he is the co buyer.  I have been receiving letters by his insurance claim. He has assured me that they thought I was the other vechile that was HIT due to the names.  I would like to call his insurance company and ask for the police repor and any other information they may have. He still lives at home and im am concern.
