Somewhere around 1.5 million people will be diagnosed with Schizophrenia for the first time this very year. That is not even counting those who have already been diagnosed or those who go undiagnosed. It is estimated that around 1 percent of the population suffers from Schizophrenia. There are 3.2 million Americans who have been diagnosed with Schizophrenia and an average of around 7.2 percent of any given city has it. The mental disease is more common in males than it is in females.

The statistics on Schizophrenia is staggering. There are millions with the disorder which is scary for the ones who have it and those who are around them if they are not in treatment for it.

The awareness of this disease is not very advanced. People sometimes live with the stigma of appearing crazy if they have it. The only way to have a normalish life with Schizophrenia is to actively be involved in ongoing treatment and management for the mental disorder.
