Schizophrenia can be triggered by a number of things. Those who have never had symptoms of it before can find the disease is first triggered by something and also, those who have it can find that they are alright one minute and then something triggers them to have an episode. Stress is a huge trigger as it is for many illnesses. It can bring on unwanted behaviors, hallucinations, and even hearing things.
A fear can bring on Schizophrenia too. If a person with the disease has a specific fear and they are exposed to it like if they fear riding in a car and have to actually ride in a car, their disease can become worse or can show symptoms suddenly. It is also suspected that diet can have something to do with symptoms. For sure one who is off their medication may have a trigger.
