Soup is often recommended by doctors when a patient is sick. There are many reasons why they do so. One reason is when someone is having trouble eating or keeping food down like if they have had dental surgery or have a stomach flu, soup will go down and stay down easier than solid food, especially if it is broth soup. Another reasons that doctors recommend soup is because it is healthy and if a patient is ill, they can maximize their nutrient intake by way of soup because it compacts and condenses the vitamins and minerals.

Soup has been recommended by doctors throughout the years. It is nothing new because it's a old fact that soup is ver nutritious and that it works well to help sick people get better. It is advisable, doctors are learning now, to make homemade rather than store bought, canned soup. It is also recommended to not pour a lot of salt in or put starchy ingredients in it.

Chicken noodle soup is one of the best things to eat when we are sick. It is very comforting because it reminds people of their childhood. It also contains nutrients that support the immune system. It provides minerals for the bones, muscles, skin, and blood. Carrots, celery, and onion are vegetables that contain vitamins A, C, and other antioxidants that are known to help in building a robust immune system and ward off viruses.

Studies have shown that a hearty bowl of chicken soup may help you to clear nasal congestion, loosen chest congestion, and it has a mild anti-inflammatory effect that can help ease cold symptoms. It is also very soothing when you have a sore throat.
