Soup can be extremely healthy but it depends on what it is made of. If you are talking about a cream based soup that also has starchy noodles in it and is loaded with salt and preservatives, no...it's not very healthy at all. But soup made from boiling bones for broth is making a splash today. It is being discovered how many nutrients boil from the bone into the stock. If it is accompanied by some fresh meat and vegetables, then it would indeed be healthy.
If soup is healthy definitely depends on what it is made of as all things are determined by such. It is important to read the labels of any that you plan to eat so you will know if it is health for you or not. Don't assume it is just because it's soup. Furthermore, there are great concerns about eating out of cans lately so you might consider getting the type that is in a carton or even freeze dried soup. Then again, watch out for preservatives in the freeze dried varieties.
