Spain has a parliamentary constitutional monarchy. According to the constitution of Spain, the King is considered as the head of the government and has certain constitutional roles that must be done. This position is hereditary; in fact, it can be inherited by daughters if a deceased king didn't have any son.
Spain became a parliamentary monarchy in a bid to put an end to dictatorship. Due to the polyethnic nature of Spain, the idea of having a king to serve as a symbol of unity became a necessity for the country in order to promote national unity. The King of Spain is the head of the government and also the commander-in-chief of the armed forces.
However, the governing roles of the king are limited since there is also a provision for the office of the President, Vice President in the constitution. Although the king still has the right to appoint or remove the President of Spain.
The correct answer to this question is a constitutional monarchy. Spain is this type of government based on its Constitution. The Constitution promotes the values of justice, equality, and freedom for the people of Spain. Spain's Constitution also has a separation of powers.
It breaks up the powers into three branches, which are legislative, judicial, and executive branches. The monarchy of Spain is the head of the country.
They are the highest power in the affairs of Spain that occur internationally. The purpose of the person who has the crown is to be neutral. Along with those powers, the monarch is the commander in chief of the military.

Spain is a country that has a long history. Before the United States was even known to exist, Spain was sending explorers to discover this new land. Like years ago in history, many countries including Spain had kings and queens. Therefore, Spain has stayed with having a monarchy for its government.
However, it has changed like other countries that had monarchies long ago and still have monarchies. The change includes either making it a constitutional monarchy or a parliamentary monarchy. This means that the kings and queens rule the country to an extent. They have certain rights and rules depending upon the country, but either a parliament or constitution also helps rule the country. In the case of Spain, they have a constitutional monarchy.
