The Salem Witch Trials affected American history by implanting a deep satanic fear in the roots of America. The Salem Witch Trials was a significant turning point. Before this event, the colonies idea of a justice system was an unorganized meeting in which those who were accused or even suspected of being guilty, were sentenced without lawyers, investigators, or proof.
The Salem Witch Trials helped to reshape the justice system and how it operated. It is because of these trials that today’s justice system is organized and fair. There is no religious favoritism allowed in the modern courtroom. The trials also changed religious and political views in America today because the Puritan’s began to separate protestant sects. The Salem Witch Trials also encouraged the notion of “separation of church and state.”
