If you are stung by a jellyfish, you should first see a doctor. Next, you should rinse the area with vinegar and carefully pluck visible tentacles with fine tweezers. Treatment for a jellyfish sting includes first aid care and possibly medical treatment, which depends on the kind of jellyfish, the intensity of the sting and your reaction to it.
After treating the area with vinegar, soak the skin in hot water. Keep the affected area immersed in a hot shower for 20 to 45 minutes. Do not rinse with sea water, human urine, alcohol, or apply pressure bandages. If someone has an intense reaction to a jellyfish sting, they may need CPR or life support. If the injury is from a box jellyfish, you may need medication.
