Why does every Instagram model look the same?

There are many reasons why some may think that all Instagram models look the same. A lot of the Instagram models are all promoting the same thing and working for the same agency. With that, the agency is often signing models with the same look to give their agency a feel of symmetry. The same goes for businesses that reach out to those to promote their products.

The casting and marketing team often have an eye for the same type of person they want and will be who they reach out to with a sponsorship. Along with that, up and coming models may research the looks that are working and recreate those looks to increase their own following.

It is common if you look back through historical photos especially those within the same time period that beauty was represented in models in similar ways. This means that hairstyles and looks that were believed to be beautiful had a certain look to them. For instance, in the 1970s, it was feathered hair that was long. Then you would see similar beautiful people looking similar because their hairstyles and other factors were the same or similar. The same can be said the about today.

Today, beauty is very similar and predictable. This may be why every Instagram model looks the same. They also may be posing in similar positions and so they may look similar just by their poses and appearances.
