Privacy is a key word when using Internet and apps. People are very cautious because they will be using an app on the Internet that may be hacked or sometimes companies can view what they are doing. It all depends upon how much privacy you want and what your definition of privacy entails. In this case, WeChat has some privacy, but maybe not as great as other products. It would just depend upon the other products.
For instance, WeChat can detect using their heatmap where users are using their WeChat. This is done to see if WeChat is being used outside of the country. Plus, hackers can always hack into apps no matter how secure it is. WeChat is the same as others based on how they could be hacked.
