Why did Tencent develop WeChat if they already had QQ?

QQ is a Tencent product that was developed in 1999 and allowed its users to message people. However, over time, this became obsolete. There were so many other products out there that did so much more. That is when Tencent decided that it would need to create something bigger and better. Whenever a company strikes it rich with a great product, it must continue in order to be successful. This is because other competing companies are trying to outdo the products that are already out there. This is the case for Tencent.

They needed another product that would not only outdo their own product but other companies’ products as well. That is when WeChat was born. This product now does so much more than the other products combined.
