There was more than one step in the mummification process in ancient Egypt. It may have seemed like a simple process where the bodies were simply wrapped in paper. However, it was more than that. First, the bodies were prepared. To do this, the person in charge would cut open the body by hooking it first. Then they would cut it open. They would take out all of the organs and let them dry out.
