What type of dresses are worn by Egyptians?

In many pictures that were drawn about the ancient Egyptians, these people were usually shown wearing white long flowing dresses. If you picture Cleopatra, who is probably the most famous Egyptian of ancient times, she is often seen wearing a dress that is sleeveless and goes straight to the ground.

A best is usually tied around her waist. Their dresses are commonly loose and not fitted. It seems that the dresses are made of light material. This is because Egypt was so hot during that time. Also, images of slaves can often be seen and they are wearing a skirt without a shirt on. There doesn’t seem to be anything fancy about the dresses that they wore except Cleopatra’s adornments.
