Why do people choose BDS over MBBS?

Dentistry is a very popular occupation around the world, especially in India and countries around Europe. There are a number of reasons that a student would choose a BDS over a MBBS. The BDS allows the person to start making money right after graduation while the MBBS degree requires students complete post-graduate work after graduation. Ultimately, while the MBBS allows the person to work in a wide range of fields, they typically do not start earning money until after post-graduate work.

Entering into a BDS program is a little bit easier than the MBBS one, which can be quite competitive because there are usually very few seats. In addition, students who enter a MBBS program have to take an entrance exam, which can be another turn off. Finally, the BDS offers students a variety of opportunities to travel and to work within their own countries, and while the MBBS affords students similar opportunities, young dentists can get out there and practice their vocations sooner.
