One cannot look at Bill Gates’s life and career and base his success on luck. There is a certain amount of intelligence, vision, and determination that goes into creating a company of this size. From what is said about him in the news and online, Gates has always had a love for technology and computing, and this has probably been the motivating factor for persevering through probably some of the more difficult times as head of Microsoft.
Luck is probably not the word to describe the Gates phenomenon, but a better word would be harmony. The word is synonymous with coordination, and when looking at his career, it seems to be in harmony with all of the things that make ventures so successful.
Grit, intelligence, motivation, shrewdness, humanism, and forward-thinking are some of all the adjectives that have described Gates and his success, and when they work in harmony at particular points of time with a dash of luck thrown in there for good measure, it has given him a platform to give the world great technology. However, one could hardly attribute the Gates’s success to just fortune.
