African elephants are highly intelligent, and they are most times smarter than what you could ever imagine. No doubt, elephants generally, have the biggest brain compared with other land animals. So many researches have been carried out by researchers in a bid to efficiently determine how intelligent African elephants are. First of all, elephants are parts of the few creatures that can manipulate things around them to get what they want.

If an elephant sees a fruit that cannot be plucked by using its trunk, it is intelligent to think that it can use materials around to pluck it. Elephants can also use their trunk to pick up materials that can be used to scratch other parts of their body. Have you ever seen elephants mourning the death of their kind? This shows they are emotional in their way. During this period, they move close to the dead body and stay with it for hours, and in some cases, they will bury it.
