The renaissance was a cultural, political, scientific and intellectual expansion that took place in Europe from 14th to 17th centuries. Since ancient Roman civilization, this may have been the most important development in history. It is difficult to determine if the renaissance concentrated more on the Romans or Greeks. It was the Greek culture that influenced Romans and the Romans developed and built it further from there.

And it was both the Greek and Roman cultures that impacted the spread of the Renaissance. The development of the printing press was one of the phenomenon that also impacted the spread of ideas during this period. Mass printing became a means of spreading different ideologies. Numerous developments in science, politics, culture, and other areas also were impacted by the development of the printing press.

Both the Greeks and the Romans were part of the Renaissance period because they both believed in Humanism which can be evident through the artworks that were created during this period. What is humanism anyway? This is the belief that the life of people and other living things are as important as the life of gods and this is something that may not have been immediately evident at that time.

The Renaissance period focused more on the Greeks probably because the Greeks were very much fond of the classic style. The artwork during the Renaissance period was obviously classics. The Romans were more focused on the dramatic flair of art.
