While traveling by train, it is important to ask if the food you get on the train is good. In Delhi, the food at the Parliament Canteen is known to be excellent food which is actually catered by the Indian Railways. But most people who travel by the Indian Railways do not find the food tasty and may even claim that it is unhealthy for numerous reasons.
Since we do not have much options while traveling long distances, people are without option but to put up with the food offered to its travelers. In some specific trains where they have made the extra effort to present greater quality, the food is known to be of good quality and taste. These special trains are: Mandovi Express from Mumbai to Madgaon, the Deccan Queen from Mumbai to Pune, and the Brindavan Express which travels from Chennai to Bengaluru. Other than these, most trains do not have a great reputation for tasty food.
Some of the problems may be directly related to the lack of hygiene and the inability to keep up with the mammoth demand of the many customers. Such problems present themselves as a challenge when it comes to food poisoning and other complications while traveling. Travel is a time when the body is experiencing many changes in climate and various other daily regimens are altered or avoided. This puts the travelers at a greater risk.
