There are some people who would expect that the answer to this is the United Kingdom probably because the first trains were made there. Even if the train was their invention, they did not create as many train tracks as compared to the United States. There are a lot of train tracks that can be explored in the United States.

It can be very complex especially for people who are visiting the country for the first time. It is best to get to know the train tracks in a certain city for a certain time in order to become familiar with the different stations and how they operate. There are also train tracks that are available in Russia.

Trains were invented in 1804 in the UK to help transport iron. These trains were fueled by steam and did not travel long distance. Since then there are train that carry passengers, trains that can travel for long distances with facilities that are required for the people, and there are trains that are capable of traveling as fast as 267 mph and people are still trying to find trains that can go faster.

Even through trains were invented in the UK, United States have the longest and the most number of railway tracks. It is about 240,000 kms and it connects about 48 states which is long enough to go around the earth five times. Out of this 80% of the track is used for freight rail network and thus leaving 35,000 kms for passenger trains. This is followed by Russia, China and India.

Many countries have trains. It seems that the United States has trains, but these trains only typically go from north to south and it doesn’t seem like it is the main type of transportation compared to cars, buses and airplanes. However, with that said, the United States has the longest length of trains tracks compared to all of the other countries in the world.

Second is China with one hundred thirty-one thousand kilometers of tracks. The United States has almost twice as much as China with two hundred fifty-seven thousand kilometers of train tracks. The country that is third in line is Russia with eighty-five thousand kilometers of train tracks. Even though one country has the most train tracks, its popularity and usage may not depend on that.
