It was in January when Jeff Bezos announced that he and his wife are getting divorced. People cannot help but think about how this would affect Amazon in general.

Some are speculating if Bezos would still be able to control the company the best way possible when he is going through something personal. I believe that divorce is nothing new at the present time.

There are a lot of people who go through divorce every day and while they are affected by it, most of them are able to keep their jobs and do their tasks well. People are also more open-minded right now and there is no need for them to connect the divorce that Bezos is going through with Amazon.

Like many high profile divorce, the public image is the first to go. The public image of someone is the opinions from many people about a famous person. Usually, a public image is tarnished when the celebrity or business person does something or something happens in his or her life. In this case, Jeff Bezos is getting a divorce. That is probably not the issue that is going to change his public image. Many people get divorced in today’s times. We all have read about Bezos and Lauren Sanchez’s leaked texts, and affairs tend to be messy issues. Their PR teams seem to be handling this issue really good so all is well for now. The public image might still not be affected as the divorce is seemingly mutual and there are no allegations of harassment or abuse by anyone in the vicinity of the divorce.

In simplicity, the public image of Bezos will not be affected in the long run as long as the divorce remains amicable and the affair is downplayed. What will be affected is his net worth and Amazon’s share prices. The share price is the biggest thing that Bezos and Amazon’s board of directors should be worried about as most investors are as fickle as a candle’s flame and all it takes is a small spark to accelerate the price drops.
