Alexander was not only great because he fought and won so many battles; he was an intelligent king. I think what helped him was the education he received from Aristotle. This really helped and shaped him to become a better king than his father.

He demonstrated his intelligence by killing his rivals when he knew they might stop him from inheriting his father's throne. He was an exceptional king because he was able to coordinate one of the strongest military formations his father built. After he inherited his father's kingdom as the king of Macedonia, he led various campaigns to conquer the known world around them.

He started by conquering the empire of Persia, one of the strongest empires during that time. He was able to extend his territory over different territories he had conquered. Before he died, he was able to spread the Greek language and culture throughout different empires he conquered.

Alexander the Great was a very successful emperor for two main reasons. First, he conquered more territories, building one of the largest empires. Second, he really did not live long enough to make any historical blunders that would be talked about for hundreds of years later.

As we look at the military conquests of the young king, we see someone who was driven. He was ambitious. But there is more to the man than just ambition. He was fulfilling dreams held by his father and himself. When he was only 20 years old, he began to build a large army. With this army, he began sweeping through territories, adding them what was once his small kingdom. His father had long wanted to conquer the Persian empire but was never able to do so. Alexander the Great was determined to do just that, and he did.

When it comes to how we remember those in history, the saying “history is written by the victors,” is very true. Alexander was able to do something many generals of his time could not. He inspired his men to great feats, leaving an empire the world envied. Since he died at the age of 32, he was able to avoid the scathing eye of the historians of the time.
