An aeroplane or airplane is aircraft with a fixed wing and powered by propellers or jets. The first aeroplane was invented on paper during the eighteenth century. Then in December 1903 the Wright brothers made the first significant powered flight.
They built a movable track to help launch the Flyer by giving it enough airspeed to take off and stay afloat. After a few unsuccessful attempts the 1903 flight did succeed and was photographed for evidence by a coastal station by arrangment.
They had designed a motored aircraft sturdy enough to cope with the motor's weight and vibrations. The craft weighed 700 pounds and came to be known as the Flyer.
