Antarctica is at the bottom of the world and the least desirable place to live. why is it the coldest, driest region? Well, because the sun reachest it least. It is too cold for what sun it sees to melt the ice and warm up the place for things to grow. There are no trees to attract rain.

The oceans do not warm up sufficiently for evaporation and freezing or near freezing air cannot hold vapour like more temperate air. In winter, the amount of expanding sea ice along the coast nearly doubles the size of Antarctica and in fact only 2% of the continent is then visible.
