Parenting is the process of raising, promoting and supporting the physical, social, emotional and intellectual development of a child. It includes all the responsibilities and activities that are involved in bringing up a child from infancy up to adulthood and this is not exclusive to the biological relationship.
In most cases, the caregiver in parenting is the biological parents of the child. Other members of the family – older siblings, legal guardian, aunt, grand parents or uncle can also be the caregiver.
The government and society also play a role in child rearing, mostly for abandoned and orphaned kids.
