George Washington has a good name and is believed that he was a great president and a great leader during the Revolutionary War as the commander in chief of the Continental Army. However, Washington did make mistakes with the army.
He wasn’t perfect. Valley Forge was not a battle, but it was a place where Washington’s Continental Army stayed during the winter of the war. In December 1777, his soldiers were staying there.
These soldiers struggled with the elements and they did not have enough food and their clothing was not thick enough to protect them from the snow and cold. Needless to say, many soldiers died and this did not look good for Washington. Usually, men die during battle and not because they don’t have enough food.
