John Paul Jones was a famous person during the American Revolutionary War. He became loyal to the U.S. after being loyal to Great Britain for most of his life. Then after being the commander of the U.S. Navy, he became unemployed after helping to win the war against Great Britain.
It would seem that the U.S. felt obligated to keeping him employed and they tried but gave up a ship to France for their help with the war. Instead, Jones was employed by Russia to help release Americans.
However, he died before he could start his job. He died in his apartment in Paris. Someone found his body in the room. He was laying on his stomach on the bed. His apartment was on the third floor.
