How and when did Beyonce gain recognition in the music industry?

Beyonce has accomplished so many incredible things in a pretty short amount of time. She began singing in choirs and in chorus classes when she was growing up after her dance teacher overheard her singing.

Now that the artist has earned 17 Grammy's, many people are wondering how exactly the huge star got her start in the music industry.

Well, it all started for her very young. She was a part of an all girl group which would eventually become Destiny's Child, a wildly popular girl band in the late 90s when she was only 8 years old. She stayed with the group until she branched out for her solo career in 2003.
