There are two very popular chats in China, one is QQ chat and the other is WeChat. While many people who live in China still use QQ chat, WeChat is becoming just as popular for IM as QQ chat. There are mainly two types of people who use QQ chat- children and coworkers.
Children in China often do not have cell phones or other ways of communication, so they use QQ chat. Coworkers will use QQ chat for both personl and business use. They often use QQ chat to talk among people who all work at the same company. This makes it much easier and faster to communicate about certain projects or tasks.
