QQ chat, which is also called Tencent QQ, is a very popular messenger service. A little less than 900 million accounts were reported by QQ in 2016, and it is the 7th most commonly visited site. Just two years prior to 2016 QQ reported only 200 million users which is an incredible jump to make in such a short amount of time.
The company that developed the software is a Chinese business called QQ. They offer many more services than the chat including: music, online games, blogging, both voice and group chats, and even more. The name QQ was chosen to imply it was "cute".
