People do not really have a standard size when it comes to giving shots. They just know that they need to provide equal shots, especially when they are serving drinks at a bar. People can be more relaxed in giving shots when they are among friends.
There will be times when the shot glasses would be too full or almost empty. In some parts of the world, the standard shot is considered to be about 1.0 to 1.25 oz. People may sometimes request for double shots wherein they would be consuming about 2 oz of drinks. Some bars will also have some regulations about the ounces that will be available in each shot.
