Low and equal series resistance enables capacitators to withstand high ripple currents since temperature rise in tantalum capacitors is a function of ripple current flowing through a capacitator and thermal resistance. Lowering ESR helps to improve the ripple current, thermal opposition, and equal series resistance.
The total thermal resistance is dependent on thermal resistance amidst the component and the elemental environment and internal thermic resistance. Heated resistance varies from one capacitor to another depending on external surface area and internal construction. In most capacitors, the equivalent resistance depends upon temperature and frequency.
