Yes, it is true that women's heart beat rate is faster than men's. Male's normal heartbeat is 70-72 beats per minute and female's normal heartbeat is 78-80 beats per minute. This may vary during resting for a normal adult resting heart rate ranges from 60 to 100 beats per minute.

Generally, a lower heart rate at rest suggests a more efficient heart function and a better cardiovascular fitness. So athletes, males and females have a lower heart rate, often, than their non athlete peers.
