A heart attack may not be sudden and may not present itself first as a chest pain. Some heart attacks are sudden, but most start slowly. Common signs and symptoms include nausea, indigestion and heartburn as well as the more expected pressure, tightness, pain, or squeezing sensation in the chest.
A squeezing pain in the left arm may spread to the neck, jaw or back. There is often a shortness of breath with a cold sweat. A feeling of fatigue, lightheadedness or sudden dizziness may prelude an onset. Bear in mind, however, that many of these symptoms can be caused by other, less significant types of unwellness. .
Don't panic unnecessarily but common sense should alert you to something very different from normal. This is information, NOT medical advice, which should be sought from a medical practitioner.
