Satire may seem like a waste of literature to some people. It may also seem that satire makes fun of people or things. However, there is an importance to having satire in literature even literature that has been written recently. Satires seem to point out the problems in society. They do this in a comical way.
Those people in society who do not want to face the harsh realities of society may do so if it was written in a satirical way. When something is written in a satirical fashion, it gets the message across to people who may not have listened to the same message written in a more serious form. Having the message portrayed to the people in society is the satire’s main purpose.
