Cocktail parties are the parties where people get together usually to socialize but cocktails are served there. The main purpose of having or attending a cocktail party is to socialize and have fun with a group of people that you know. Sometimes, cocktail parties are held for groups of friends to get together or a company’s employees to get together and spend time together outside of the work day.
The first cocktail party was from a woman in Missouri named Walsh who invited many friends over to her house and served cocktails. The event only lasted about an hour but it gave friends time to talk and drink cocktails. This took place in 1917 and people heard about this event and it took off.
