Besides King’s family, there were other key people who marched and strongly supported King during the Civil Rights Movement. Many of these people were with King when he died on the balcony of the motel in Memphis, Tennessee. Jesse Jackson was also his close allies.
He was also a minister just like Martin Luther King Jr, Hosea Williams. He became a part of this movement due to the violence he was exposed to due to inequality. Ralph Abernathy is probably the most famous friend of King. He had established a boycott with bus companies.
A few others include William D. Campbell, Henry Groskinsky and Ben Branch. Some of these people were supporting King as a friend and others supported him because they truly believed in his cause. Some were both of these things.
