Periodontology is quite an interesting speciality to pursue. A periodontist is one who specializes in periodontology. Periodontology is the study of the specialized system of hard and soft tissues that support s our teeth and maintain the position of our jaw.

To become a periodontist you need to first purse a bachelor’s degree. People who study periodontology are individuals that already have a dental degree. So you need to attend a dental school, after graduating from dental school, obtain your dental licensure then get a 3 year specialized training in periodontology (residence in periodontology) and get board certified.
